Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway Project on Hold?
The Deputy of Indonesian House of Representatives Fahri Hamzah urges the government to postpone the construction of Jakarta-Bandung high speed railway project as he claims that the ministry of transport has not yet issued any confirmation letter permitting the undertaking of such venture and he relies on the fact that from Jakarta to Bandung and vice versa can be reached through available highways or toll roads. “If we are not that ready nor prepared for such serious venture, then I think it is best to put the development on hold. Yes, it is acceptable to make necessary progression in terms of the nation’s infrastructure but I hope that it does not lead to a controversial one,” Fahri Hamzah said on the sidelines of ‘Stop Jakarta- Bandung high speed railay construction’ discussion at the House of Representatives building (DPR), Tuesday (2/2/2016).
